In our Legal Team, we are seeking a Legal Counsel France, seated at the HQ in Rotterdam, directly reporting to the Head of Legal & DPO. You will work alongside experienced colleagues who value clear communication, proactive thinking and collaborative problem-solving in a genuinely collegial environment.

Your role as Legal Counsel France

As a Legal Counsel with expertise in French law, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and guidance to our business operations in France and other French-speaking countries.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks, and support the company's growth objectives in these markets. This role requires a strong understanding of French commercial contract, IT contracts and regulatory law with particular focus on the e-mobility sector.

Your core responsibilities

• Participate in contract negotiations with customers respectively in France and French speaking countries.
• Provide advice on, maintain and review templates and policies.
• Monitor and analyze changes in the (French) law and legal risks; propose creative and effective solutions to address those risks.
• Support the business development team with legal guidance for expansion in French speaking markets.
• Handling contract review, commercial agreements and negotiations under French law.
• Establish effective documentation to enhance the legal department’s processes and resources.
• Provide clear and pragmatic legal advice on French regulatory requirements affecting the e-mobility and energy sectors.
• Support dispute resolution and pre-litigation matters involving French counterparties.
• Collaborate with the wider legal team on cross-border matters and harmonization of legal approaches and participate in legal projects and process improvements across the legal department.
• Ensure compliance with French consumer protection, data privacy, and energy regulations.
• Conduct legal risk assessments for new products and business initiatives in French markets.

You recognize yourself in

• 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in an e-mobility company.
• Law degree (JD/LLB) or local law degree equivalent in French law.
• Knowledge of privacy law is a plus.
• Experience working with French customers in France and French speaking countries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across business units and internal functions to efficiently resolve business issues.
• Practical yet creative problem-solving approach that emphasizes addressing business needs while protecting Last Mile Solutions’ interests.
• Proactive, dynamic, and result driven self-starter with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues and customers.
• Full working proficiency in French and English languages, knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to interface effectively with all business functions throughout the organization with a highly responsive and service-oriented attitude.
• Sound and practical business judgment and ability to balance legal considerations with business objectives.
• Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure, especially during high-stakes negotiations.
