In our Legal Team, we are seeking a Legal Counsel Germany, seated at the HQ in Rotterdam, directly reporting to the Head of Legal & DPO. You will work alongside experienced colleagues who value clear communication, proactive thinking and collaborative problem-solving in a genuinely collegial environment.

Your role as Legal Counsel Germany

As a Legal Counsel specialized in German law, you will be an integral part to Last Mile Solutions’ legal operations in Germany and other German-speaking countries. You will provide expert legal guidance to support business growth while ensuring compliance with German legal requirements.

In this role you will collaborate with various team members and stakeholders to deliver practical legal guidance that mitigates risks in the DACH countries while supporting business objectives.

This role requires deep knowledge of German commercial contract, IT contracts and regulatory frameworks particularly as they relate to e-mobility, energy and technology sectors.

Your core responsibilities

• Participate in contract negotiations with customers in the DACH countries.
• Provide specialized legal advice on German energy law, e-mobility regulations, and charging infrastructure requirements.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in Germany that may impact business operations.
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements, IT contracts under German law, including charging network agreements, B2B and B2C contracts, and roaming arrangements.
• Support business teams in navigating complex German regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations.
• Establish effective documentation to enhance the legal department’s processes and resources.
• Support the resolution of disputes with German counterparties.
• Collaborate with the wider legal team on international projects requiring German law expertise and participate in cross-functional projects to support the company’s expansion in German-speaking regions.
• Conduct legal risk assessments for new products and business initiatives in DACH markets.

You recognize yourself in

• 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in an e-mobility company.
• JD/LLB or local law degree equivalent.
• Knowledge of privacy law is a plus.
• Experience working with DACH customers and team members in the DACH region.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across business units and internal functions to efficiently resolve business issues.
• Practical yet creative problem-solving approach that emphasizes addressing business needs while protecting Last Mile Solutions’ interests.
• Proactive, dynamic, and result driven self-starter with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues and customers.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to interface effectively with all business functions throughout the organization with a highly responsive and service-oriented attitude.
• Sound and practical business judgment and ability to balance legal considerations with business objectives.
• Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure, especially during high-stakes negotiations.
• Full working proficiency in German and English languages, knowledge of other languages is a plus.
